How I Use It
⚠️ Risk Management
I don't use this to enter trades. I use it to AVOID entering trades at bad times. If I'm about to take a signal and notice it's :32 past the hour (mid-hour danger zone), I'll either skip it or be extra cautious.
📅 Time Awareness
When you're focused on charts, it's easy to lose track of time. This keeps me aware of what hour/minute it is without having to look away. If it's a highlighted zone, I know to be more selective.
✅ Signal Confirmation
If I get a Runic Pro signal during a key time (like NY Open or a mid-hour window), I might give it more weight. But the indicator itself doesn't tell me to trade - it just helps me understand the context.

Installation
- Download the
.zipfile - Go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On
- Select the downloaded .zip file
- Restart NinjaTrader
- Add "Runic Key Times" to your chart
- Customize via indicator properties

Common Questions
Does this work on all timeframes?
Yes, but it's most useful on 1-5 minute charts where intra-hour timing matters. On higher timeframes (15min+), the regions may be less visually distinct.
Will this slow down my charts?
No. The indicator uses optimized rendering and only draws during real-time trading, not on historical bars.
Can I customize the colors?
Absolutely. Every time window has its own color setting, and you can adjust the opacity from 1-100%.
Do I need to understand coding to use this?
Not at all. Just import the file and add it to your chart. All settings are accessible via the standard NinjaTrader properties panel.
Does this repaint?
No. The indicator simply highlights time ranges. There's no calculation or signal logic that could repaint.
Can I modify this indicator?
This is a compiled assembly, so the source code isn't included. But you can customize all the settings (colors, times, opacity) via the NinjaTrader properties panel.
